PSD stands for “Photoshop Document”, and is the native file format of Adobe Photoshop. It is a file that can contain several layers with vectors, objects, text, images, photos, effects and filters, with or without alpha transparency.
Photoshop is the right app to open a PSD as its the only one that allows to edit these files. However there are some alternatives that will permit you to see it as a flattened image, such as Paint.Net, GIMP, Photopea, Google Drive, macOS preview, InfranView, XnView.
